Learn how to make this cute Woolly Yarn Sheep Ornament
Materials needed to make the Woolly Yarn Sheep Ornament:
- white yarn
- white wool felt
- a small mason jar lid ring
- needle and black thread
- scissors
- hot glue gun
Steps to make this Woolly Yarn Sheep Ornament:
Step 1:
Wrap the mason jar lid ring with white yarn.
You will need to wrap the lid ring a few times to make your sheep’s body nice and thick.
Use a blob of hot glue to secure the end of the yarn when your sheep is fully wrapped.
Step 2:
With scissors, cut out your sheep’s head and 4 legs from the white wool felt.
I found it easier to draw my sheep’s head on paper, using a pencil and eraser to make it just the way I wanted it. When it was perfect, I cut it out of the paper shape and pinned it to the felt to use as a stencil.
Step 3:
Use the needle and black thread to embroider eyes, a nose and a mouth onto your sheep.
Isn’t he starting to look cute?!
Step 4:
With a hot glue gun, stick the sheep’s head and legs in place.
You’ll glue the sheep’s head onto the front of the body and the legs onto the back so that his body looks neat from the front.
Step 5:
From the white wool felt, cut a small sheep’s tail and glue it in place on the sheep’s body.
Step 6:
Thread a loop of white yarn through the body and your sweet, woolly sheep is ready for hanging on the Christmas tree.
