Step 1: Paint one side of the popsicle sticks and let them dry. Then paint the other side and let them dry. We painted them in colors that corresponded to the heart colors, but you can let kids be creative!

Step 2: Using two foam hearts, peel off the backings and sandwich the popsicle stick in between the two hearts. Stick the hearts together, adhesive to adhesive. You might have to help very young children with the alignment of the hearts.

Step 3: Using a red paint marker or pen, write your favorite conversation hearts saying and then personalize with a name on each of the heart popsicle sticks.

Step 4: Fill the glass container with conversation hearts candies and tie a ribbon around the container.

Step 5: Arrange the popsicle sticks so they stand up in the glass container. That’s all there is to it!

Note: If you want to preserve your Valentine’s Day crafts that use conversation hearts candy, you will need to coat candies with clear polyurethane varnish. Pour the varnish into the container over the candies, but make sure you use more than one coat to ensure you don’t miss any. You need to insulate the conversation hearts from moisture as much as possible!
