Sing Favorite Christmas Carols on “Go Caroling Day”

Attention: December 20th is Go Caroling Day!  You have now been officially notified. With knowledge comes responsibility. You are obligated to sing Christmas carols!

Christmas carols have been in existence for thousands of years and were commonly sung for Winter Solstice, hence the December 20th date. Going door-to-door through the neighborhood singing as a group has only been a tradition since the 19th century, and with the fast pace of life and mobility of society, has essentially been obliterated from practice.

Ways To Sing Christmas Carols

How you sing your FA LA LA is entirely up to you. The word CAROL actually means “song of joy” so spread some good cheer, to all those you hold dear, during this festive time of year!

Most people know Christmas Carols lyrics off the top of their head for at least a half dozen songs. If you need some help in this area, Ornament Shop has compiled the song lyrics to some caroling favorites that you can print for your group of carolers. So gather some friends, serve some homemade glogg and sing your hearts out!

If  making the rounds spreading good cheer to your neighbors is not on your playlist, you can easily host your own car concert or home performance by singing along with the radio. It just wouldn’t be the holiday season without the sweet melodies and catchy tunes of Christmas carols pouring out of the stereo. Some radio stations even go to a Christmas only format before Thanksgiving! If you would like to know which radio stations you can tune into to get into the holiday spirit, Ornament Shop has a helpful radio list from across the country that you can use over the river and through the woods to grandmother’s house.

Celebrate Go Caroling Day Without Singing Christmas Carols

For those of you with severe performance anxiety, not to worry, you can still participate in Go Caroling Day without the pain of performing.  Play a Christmas carol game. “Name That Christmas Carol” is a quiz game in which you guess which carol is represented by a statement using synonyms in place of the title of a carol.

Commemorate your participation in Go Caroling Day with a personalized Christmas carol ornament.
