Learn How To Make Your Own Clay Dog Ornament!

We think your pooch needs a special dog ornament on the tree for Christmas!  That’s why I’ve asked my friend Donni from MagicOnions.com to lead you through a wonderful step by step tutorial of making a dog ornament for her special friend!

My dog is called Moose. He’s a Mini Australian Shepherd, comes from Wyoming and he is beyond beloved in our house. Look how cute he was when he was a puppy! He’s 3 years old now and is such a strong member of our family. We are happy to include him in our Christmas celebrations with this easy DIY dog ornament.

Materials needed for making a dog ornament:

  • Sculpey Clay
  • Small Alphabet Stamps
  • Christmas Ribbon

Instructions for making a dog ornament:

Soften the Sculpey clay in your hands. The amount of clay needed will depend upon the size of your dog’s paw.

Moose has a medium sized paw, so we used about 3/4 of the Sculpey square.

When the clay is very soft, flatten it into a circle big enough to fit your dog’s whole paw.

Gently press your dog’s paw into the clay… the deeper you can get it, the better.

Remember to include the claws too.

Use the stamps to write your dog’s name along the side of the clay.
