Fall Flavors Come Alive When You Make This Caramel Apple Grapes Recipe
Ingredients:
– Plump green grapes (works with red ones too!)
– Crushed peanuts
– Caramels
– Whipping cream
– Pretzel sticks or Toothpicks
Step 1: Pull the grapes off the vine, wash in water and dry thoroughly.
Step 2: Carefully cut the pretzels in half with a knife.
Step 3: Poke the pretzels through the hole made by the vine in the grape.
Step 4: Unwrap the caramels and put in a sauce pan. Pour in the whipping cream and melt over low heat, stirring constantly.
Note: We used the ratio of 25 caramels to ¼ cup of whipping cream.
Step 5: Once all of the caramels have melted, remove from heat. Dip grapes, one at a time, in melted caramel.
Note: If caramel becomes too thick to dip, reheat until smooth.
Step 6: Roll in peanuts. Place grapes on a sheet of waxed paper and refrigerate.
That’s it! Now, either stand up on a platter to serve to guests or toss in a baggie for a picnic or delightful afternoon snack for the kids. They will come running when they smell these fall flavors.
Warning! If you dip into these caramel apple grapes ahead of time “just to try” them, there might not be any left for your guests or the kids!
