Create DIY Pokémon Ornaments In A Flash

Catch Pokémon fever with a DIY ornament craft project.  I chose to make everyone’s favorite Pokémon character, Pikachu, and a Pokéball ornament.

Supplies for Pokémon Ornaments:

  • Clear Glass Ball Ornament
  • Yellow paint
  • Yellow felt
  • Scissors
  • Black paint
  • Glue
  • Paint markers for the facial details
  • White paint
  • Red paint
  • Black paint marker
  • Silver glitter paint

Steps To Make A Pikachu Pokémon Ornaments

Step 1: Carefully remove the cap on the ornament and pour yellow paint inside.  Swirl around until completely coated.  If you need to shake the ornament to get more coverage, make sure that you cover the hole with your thumb as you shake.

Step 2: Cut pointy Pikachu ears out of the felt and paint the tips with the black paint.

Step 3: Draw Pikachu’s face on with the paint marker to give him personality and let it dry. Don’t forget his pink electric cheeks!

The third step to make a Pikachu ornament is to draw the face. Use how we drew the face as a guide, as the mouth is very important and uses a W shape with a U underneath. | OrnamentShop.com

Step 4: Glue the ears to the glass ball and let them dry.

The final and fourth step to make a Pikachu ornament is to super glue the ears to the top of the ball. | OrnamentShop.com

 

Steps To Make A Pokéball Ornament

Step 1: Carefully remove the ornament cap and pour some white paint in the clear glass ball ornament.  Slowly turn the ornament around until the white paint only covers the bottom half of the glass ball and let it dry.

Step 2: Paint the outside of the glass ball ornament with red paint from the half way mark that you can see from the white paint inside.

The second step to make a Pokeball ornament is to paint the outside of the top half of the ball red. | OrnamentShop.com

Step 3: Using the black paint marker, draw the circle on the front and black stripe around the middle, all the way around the circumference of the glass ball.  Fill in the circles with silver glitter paint.  Let it dry.

The third and final step to make a Pokeball ornament is to use the black paint market to draw a line across the hemisphere of the ball and the circle on the front. Use silver glitter paint to add a shiny detail to the circle on the front. | OrnamentShop.com

That’s it!  You now have Pokémon ornaments that you created yourself.  A brightly colored yellow Pikachu ornament and red and white Pokéball ornament.

    Pokemon is all the rage for my kids and their classmates right now. This pokemon ornaments DIY will be perfect for them. I was considering purchasing pokemon ornaments for a Christmas present, but now they will be able to make their own!
