A DIY Easter Tree That Is Uniquely You

An Easter Tree is a wonderful way to brighten up your home for spring. You will quickly discover how easy, fun and creative it is to make your very own! The palette of spring colors are easy to coordinate and you will enjoy making an Easter tree in your unique signature style.

Whether you want an elegant, kid-friendly, natural or artistic Easter tree, the options are endless with only a few necessary supplies. We made our Easter tree using twigs and branches bought at a craft store, but you can easily collect some from your yard and even paint them white or another pastel color!

Make An Easter Tree In 5 Easy Steps

Your Easter Tree Supplies:

  • Twigs, branches or stems
  • Brightly colored tin pail
  • Floral foam
  • Easter grass
  • Pastel ribbon
  • Easter ornaments from OrnamentShop.com
  • Optional: embellishments such as chicks, eggs, birds or bunnies

Easter Tree Supplies

Step 1: Place the piece of floral foam in the bottom of the tin pail and stick the twigs and branches into the foam, making sure the pieces are secure.

Note: If your branches are heavy, you may want to put rocks or marbles underneath the foam to weigh the tin pail down and not have it tip over.

Step 2: Bend the twigs and branches to form a tree shape.

Step 3: Fill the tin pail with the Easter grass, completely covering the foam. If there are pieces sticking out, trim them with a pair of scissors.

Step 4: Wrap the ribbon around the tin pail and tie it in a bow. If you use a satin ribbon, you may need a glue dot or hot glue to keep it from sliding down the side of the tin pail.

Step 5: Decorate your Easter tree with personalized Easter ornaments and any other embellishments.

That’s all you have to do to make an Easter tree! You can embellish your tree with anything that you like. If you are making a natural Easter tree, you might want to include a bird’s nest in the branches, or children will love decorating plastic eggs with stickers to place in the Easter grass. It’s up to you how ornate you want your Easter tree to be!

Note: We added a pink bird to the branches and Styrofoam glittered eggs into the grass to finish ours off.
