Wreath Thanksgiving Decorations Give Thanks For All Wonderful Things
Here is how to make your very own Thanksgiving decorations that allow you and your family to give thanks for all of the precious people in your lives as well as milestones such as a successful medical operation, an excellent report card, a job promotion or any other things you might be grateful for. Because you come up with the items you want to give thanks for, these wreaths are personal Thanksgiving decorations that will be unique to your family!
Supplies Needed:
- Any sort of plain stick wreath or Styrofoam ring
- Fall or harvest ribbon, burlap or raffia
- Wood plaque or piece
- Paint or wood stain for wood plaque or piece
- Bow or a yard of festive ribbon to tie a bow
- Foam self-adhesive leaves
- Glue
- Black permanent marker
- Decorative cinnamon sticks
- Leaf clothespins
Step 1: Paint or stain the wood plaque and personalize it with your family name or any other saying when it is dry.
Step 2: Wrap ribbon, burlap or raffia around the ring and tuck the ends in.
Step 3: Tie the bow onto the top of the wreath and secure the wood plaque.
Step 4: It’s time to gather your family members together to give thanks! Have each person write a different thing that they are thankful for on the foam leaves using a permanent marker. Each leaf should have something different on it. You can even put names on them to give thanks for all of the members of your family at Thanksgiving dinner!
Step 5: Stick the leaves onto the wreath. You may have to use some glue if the leaves don’t stick well to the type of ribbon, burlap or raffia you used. Group the leaves by family or any other way you’d like to fill the entire wreath. Then add cinnamon sticks and clip on the leaf clothespins to the ribbon. That way, your guests can write down what they want to give thanks for on a piece of paper and clip it on to the wreath.
These Thanksgiving decorations are the perfect way to get everyone involved in the festivities!
Now your wreath is complete and ready to be the centerpiece of your Thanksgiving decorations! So, give thanks this Turkey Day for all of the blessings that you and your family have. Make this a family tradition and add new leaves every year, commemorating all that you are thankful for. Makes a wonderful, heartfelt gift for someone hosting Thanksgiving dinner too!
