Chinese New Year 2014 – Year Of The Horse

The Chinese New Year begins on January 31st.  In China, it is observed with people taking weeks off of work to prepare for and celebrate this most important calendar event. At the start of a new year people like to read their horoscope to help them determine what they can look forward to in the upcoming months. What does the Year of the Horse signify for you?

Legend of How the Chinese New Year Animals Were Chosen

Long ago, in ancient times, legend has it that Buddha called all of the animals to meet him on the first day of the Chinese New Year. Only twelve came, so Buddha named a year after each one and claimed that people born in the animal’s year would have some aspect of that living creature’s personality. This year, 2014, is the year of the Horse.  If you were born in the year of the horse, you are said to be cheerful, skillful with money, perceptive, witty and talented with your hands. You are a horse if you were born in the following years: 2002, 1990, 1978, 1966, 1954, 1942, 1930, or 1918.

Chinese New Year Horoscope If You Were Born in the Year of the Horse

If you are a Horse, the Chinese New Year horoscope predicts that you are in a position of leadership and fortune, so you should experience increased authority. However, you are cautioned because of the horse’s impulsive nature which can lead to recklessness, so stay away from gambling and other such speculative endeavors. Naturally lucky, the horse has a bright and fun-loving disposition, always seeking the good life and desiring material wealth.

Chinese New Year Outlook and What It Means For You

Last year, 2013 was the Year of the Snake. It was a time for pondering and planning, waiting for just the right moment to strike after careful consideration. In the Year of the Horse, you need to take the opposite approach and prepare yourself for a race right out of the gate!
